Y cuenta la leyenda de Sa Naveta des Tudons, que en tiempos remotos dos jóvenes gigantes que habitaban en tierras cercanas de la actual Ciutadella, se disputaban el amor de una joven doncella que se mostraba indecisa por cual de ellos escoger como marido. A fin de resolver la disputa de forma pacífica, los jóvenes gigantes se retaron en un duelo de fuerza y habilidad para realizar dos imponentes obras distintas. Uno, debería construir una naveta con grandes bloques de piedra bien tallados y el otro, cavar con la fuerza de sus brazos un profundo pozo del que brotase agua.
Enfrascados en el duelo, los pretendientes se dedicaron durante días y días a sus respectivas obras con la mente puesta en el premio, pero sin dejar de prestar atención a los progresos que realizaba su oponente. Hasta que un día, cargado con la última piedra al hombro, el gigante de la naveta pasó junto al pozo para comunicárselo a su adversario y declararse así como vencedor, pero de lo más profundo del agujero se oyó; “-Ya no importa que la termines, porque acabo de hallar agua. He ganado yo!-”.
Cegado por los celos, el gigante responsable de la construcción de la naveta cedió a su propia cólera, levantó la gran roca que cargaba encima y la arrojó a lo más profundo del pozo, del que salió un grito que desgarró el aire. Algunos dicen que el asesino huyó avergonzado para no regresar jamás, otros aseguran que se arrojó al mar por el peso de su culpa, pero en lo que todas las historias coinciden es que por ese motivo, la roca que le falta a la fachada de la Naveta des Tudons se encuentra en el fondo del pozo de sa Barrina, de donde nunca pudo ser recuperada.
According to the legend to youth giants were leaving near Ciutadella fighting for the love of a doncell, who had to choose on of them to get marry with. To choose a husband peacefuly they decided to do duel with their strength and hability. One of them had to build a Naveta with it's good stones and the other one had to do a well caving with his arms until he finds up water.Both of them dedicated days and nights building their proposes with their minds fixed on the lady, but with attention on their oponnents advance. Until one day, carring the last stone the giant walked near his oponnent to tell him that he was about to win but at the end of the (pozo) the opponnet says "It doesn't matter that you finish it anymore, I've just find out water. I win"
Blind by gealous the giant who was building the navet threw his last stone hearing a scream at the bottom of the (pozo). Some people says that the gient run away to be never found out, others say that the gient felt gilty and killed itself; but both endings coincide that the stone which is left on the "Naveta des Tudons" is the one who's on the floor of the "Es pou de sa barrina".
