SURF EN MENORCA

Menorca es también un buen lugar para practicar surf, sobretodo en época de primavera ya que el agua está perfecta, aún así en invierno es dónde encontramos las olas de más altura. Existen un montón de playas dónde practicar este deporte, en el norte por ejemplo tenemos: Cala Tirant, Cavalleria y Cala Tortuga entre otras,  y en el sur estarían: Son Bou, Binigaus, Punta Prima...

De hecho en Punta Prima es el lugar dónde se celebra el One Punta Prima Day, que es un festival de este tipo de deportes de tabla, no solo surf ya que por si no hubiera olas ese día se practican otros deportes como skate o longboard.

Menorca is also a nice place for surf practice, especially in the spring season since the water is perfect, even though in the winter is where we find the highest waves. In fact, Punta Prima is the place where the "One Punta Prima Day" festival is celebrated, which is a festival of this kind of board sports, not only surf, because if there were no waves other sports like skate or longboarding are practiced.

TIPOS DE SETAS EN MENORCA

Cómo ya saben una de las actividades típicas en Menorca es ir en busca de setas, en menorquín lo llamamos esclata-sangs, por eso, os vamos a explicar que tipos tenemos y donde buscarlos.

Empezamos por los principales tipos de setas:

EL ROVELLÓN, es una de las principales que busca la gente, la mas apreciada, es una seta totalmente comestible  y se encuentra en los pinares.

LA RÚSULA, es también una de las setas principales, tiene un sabor muy agradable y también es comestible, se encuentra en el encinar.

-El rovellón y la rúscula son los más frecuentes.

Las empresas están especializadas en los recorridos por el Camí de Cavalls ofrecen rutas para jinetes no iniciados entre 1 hora y 3 de duración hasta rutas para jinetes experimentados con cinco días de ruta.

¿Te apetece pasar una tarde con los tuyos disfrutando del ballet?

El próximo Domingo día 3 de Diciembre en la Sala Polivalente del Canal Salat, en Ciutadella; a cargo de la Escuela de Danza Carmen Estela.

"El Cascanueces" es un ballet en dos actos basados en un cuento de Amadeus Hoffman, con música de Tchaikovsky i coreografía original de Marius Petipa. Es un cuento muy representado por todo el mundo.

¿Would you like to spend a day with your family enjoying the best ballet?

Next Saturday 3rd of December, in the "Sala Polivalente del Canal Salat" in Ciutadella, it will be played a representation of the ballet "The Nutcracker" by the hand of the Escuela de Danza Carmen Estela.

"The Nutcracker" is a ballet in two parts based in a book of Amadeus Hoffman, with the music of Tchaikovsky and the original coreography of Marius Petipa. It is played all over around the world.

Curso de "nanses" en Ciutadella

Si quieren aprender y pasar un buen rato, pueden asistir al curso de nanses para pesca los días 9,15,16,22,23,29 y 30 de noviembre de 17:00 a 19:00 horas. Aunque deben inscribirse previamente en Ciutadella.

Pero ¿Que son ses Nanses?
Es un aparejo de pesca hecho de malla de junco, mimbre, caña etc, que consiste en una pieza en forma de cúpula en base a la que va unida a otra pieza en forma de embudo.

Una forma divertida de pasar el rato y aprender algo tipico de la isla de Menorca.

But what are "ses Nanses"?
It is a fishing tackle made of reed mesh, wicker, cane etc, which consists of a dome-shaped piece on the basis of which it is attached to another piece in the form of a funnel.

Faro de Favàritx

FARO DE FAVÀRITX

Buenas tardes, vamos a terminar nuestra exposición de faros con la visita hacia El Faro de Favàritx. Es un bonito lugar dónde podrás disfrutar de unas puestas de sol estupendas. Además el paisaje es tan árido y peculiar que por momentos te va a parecer que estas en la luna ya que el paisaje es fundamentalmente rocoso.

Good afternoon, we are going to finish our exposure about the Menorcan Lighthouse. The last visit is the Favàritx Lighthouse. It is a magnificient place where you can enjoy stunning sunsets. In addiction to it, the landscape is dry and quircky and you may feel that you're in the moon as the landscape is mostly rocky.

                                                                                                      

 

El faro se construyó en 1922. Para hacerlo se aprovechó la roca de la zona, por eso hoy en día aún podemos ver a escasos metros de él la cantera que se abrió para construirlo.

The Lighthouse was built in 1922. People used to use rock material from the área to build it. That's how nowadays we can still see the quarry opened next to it.

🚗 ¿Cómo llegar?

Si estas en Mahón tan solo tienes que coger la carretera en dirección a Fornells y desviarte en cuanto veas el cartel indicativo del Faro de Favàritx.

Si por el contrario vienes de Ciutadella, la mejor opción es coger la carretera en dirección a Mahón y tomar el Camí d'en Kane en el desvío de Es Mercadal para luego llegar a la carretera de Maó a Fornells.

🚗 ¿How to get there?

If you come from Mahón you just have to catch the main road on the way to Fornells and then follow the signals on the road which lead to Favàritx.

On the other hand, If you come from Ciutadella, the best option is catch the main road m1 on the way to Mahón and then, once in Es Mercadal, catch the road called "Camí d'en Kane" perfectly indicated. Finally you will go srtaight to the road Mahón - Fornells.

¿Sabe que al lado de el Faro hay dos calas muy bonitas para contemplar la inmensidad de la costa norte?
Pues si le sobra tiempo y le apetece realizar otra pequeña excursión puede adentrarse por el camino de caballos justo al lado de la puerta de madera del párking y en unos 20 minutos llegar a Cala Presili (dónde puede incluso bucear)  y seguidamente a Cala Tortuga, dónde se encuentra el parque natural de la Albufera de Es Grau.
Maravilloso, no es así? Pues ya tiene los planes para el próximo Domingo!

Have you ever noticed that next to the Lighthouse there are two Sandy White beaches to contemplate the north coast?
If you have more time and you want to do another short excursión, you can go through the Cami de Cavalls. It is just in front of the parking and in 20 minutes approximatelly yo will arrive to Cala Presili (where you can even practice snorkel) and continuously reach Cala Tortuga in some 15 minutes time. In this área there is also the Natural Park of Es Grau.
